Stainless Steel P5
Mold steels are designated as group P steels according to the AISI classification system.These steels consist of one medium carbon steel and all lowcarbon Pseries tool steelssuch as P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P20, and P21 type steels. Two major elements present inthe mold steels are nickel and chromium. All the other Pseries steels, except P4 andP21, have low resistance to softening at high temperatures, while P21 and P4 havemedium softening resistance. These lowcarbon mold steels are subjected to deephardening.
